Naila Hamdy has current research interests in the Arab journalism profession, and her book chapters and articles focus on the journalism culture, the role of media, and the impact of digital media. She is published in the International Communication Gazette, the Journal of Middle East Media, The Global Media Journal-Arabian Edition, Journal of Arab & Muslim Media Research, and the Westminster Papers in Communication and Culture, among others. She is a former television journalist and covered major news events for international TV stations. She is a board member of the Arab-US Association for Communication Educators, an advisor to the Ethical Journalism Network, a member of the Broadcast Educators Association, the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, and the International Association for Media and Communication Research.
